NCCNA Area Bids
In the spirit of unity, member Areas of the Northern California Region are represented on NCCNA’s Host, Program, and Registration Subcommittees. These Subcommittees serve for the current year’s convention and fulfill their responsibilities as set forth in the NCCNA Handbook and Guidelines. Subcommittees are responsible for conducting monthly business meetings in accordance with the Twelve Traditions and Twelve Concepts of Service, submitting written progress reports to the NCCNA Committee at each regular NCCNA meeting, adhering to the timelines set forth by the NCCNA subcommittee, and following specific procedures for the disbursement of funds.
Areas wishing to sponsor an NCCNA Subcommittee must submit a bid to NCCNA. An Area’s bid letter should be approved by a group conscience of its ASC and should include the name, telephone number, and email address (if available) of a contact person within the bidding Area. This letter must be received no later than 120 days prior to the upcoming convention and will be a bid for the following convention (example: the bid for the 2010 convention must be received 120 days prior to the start of the 2009 convention). No Area may sponsor the same Subcommittee for two consecutive years. Multi-Area bids will be considered and are encouraged. To expedite your Area’s bid request, forward it to the NCCNA committee at email@example.com email.
NCCNA selects the Program and Registration Subcommittees for its future convention after careful consideration of all relevant information outlined in their bid letters. Priority is given to those Areas which have not recently served as an NCCNA Subcommittee. The Host Subcommittee is automatically awarded to the Area in which the convention will be held. The Areas selected are formally announced at the current convention, during the Saturday night Main Speaker Meeting.
